DIY Mini Easter Decoration in a Quail Egg
Mini Easter decorations for minimalists! This Easter decoration in a quail egg is not only something special because of its size! The little mini figures fit perfectly into a quail egg and since the Easter decorations on the table are not so opulent, you can still see the person opposite you while drinking your Easter coffee. Liska from dekotopia.net shows you how to implement this great decoration idea.
Step-by-step instruction
Instructions from Liska from dekotopia.net
You need that
- Mini figures (e.g. "On the Farm")
- Mini animals (e.g. "Swans and Ducks")
- Quail eggs
- Pin
- Glue
- Thin wire
So that the mini figures and animals can "move into" the Easter eggs, we have to prick them first. This works best with a pin. Be careful not to crack the egg. If you do accidentally break an Easter egg, it’s not so bad! If the egg accidentally has a slightly bigger opening, you can see inside better. :)
In the next step, you glue individual Grass Tufts in the quail eggs. The tufts are available in different colours and lengths. Just have a look through the range to see what you like best. The tufts can be affixed with glue. I stuck in one or two tufts per egg and then later put a mini figure in the Easter nest in the quail egg. Alongside the typical bunny, I think hens, swans and even goats fit the decoration quite well!
Your Easter eggs are actually done; they just have to
be hung up. To do this, make a small hole in the egg with the pin again and
pull a thin wire through. It’s best to tie a knot at one end of the wire
straight away so that it stays in the quail egg. With the eggs that were a bit "airy" at the top, I pricked a hole on the right and left side and put the wire
through there. You can see that quite well in the photo of the egg with the
goats.
With that, the mini Easter decoration is done, and you
can hang the beautifully decorated quail eggs on a beautifully blossoming and
fragrant branch. It looks really great, hence why I took so many pictures for
you. ;)
